The Clears

ZAO- Zombies, Aliens and Others

This project explores the meaning of privacy and the effect it would have on society if it was removed, based on three main subjects: data sharing, cults and rituals, looking at data sharing as the scope under which we analyzed behaviours and performed rituals, thus creating a transparent society, a cult.
“The Clears”, the cult created, has as primary objective ‘living a transparent life, one without privacy by sharing everything about them with other members. We designed rituals to share the information which would make us take the lack of privacy to an extreme, test and explore their material permanence in the world, as well as the uncomfortableness of sharing by performing these. Further, we designed devices that corresponded to specific rituals in which there was a great material consideration as they were all made transparent to further the theme and make it all cohesive.
